Founded in 1808, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange (CSE), a non-profit organization, began trading. In 1996, the CSE was changed to a limited company. In 1998, the CSE and the Stockholm Exchange established the NOREX Alliance, which focused on the development of the Nordic securities market.
On November 15, 2004, the CSE and the OMX announced that the CSE would join the OMX group. In 2008, OMX merged with the Nasdaq to form Nasdaq OMX.
