Official Website: National Stock Exchange (BNV)

The first attempts to establish a stock exchange in Costa Rica dates back to the 1940s, when the San José Stock Exchange was founded.

In September 1970, a group of entrepreneurs gathered together in the National Chamber of Finance, Investments and Credit (CANAFIC) to found the National Stock Exchange (BNV). The BNV held its first session on August 19, 1976 and it was officially inaugurated on September 29, 1976 by the then President of the Republic, Daniel Oduber Quirós.
