The Rwanda Stock Exchange Limited (RSE) was incorporated on October 7, 2005 with the objective of carrying out stock market operations. It was officially launched on January 31, 2011. The RSE is operated under the jurisdiction of Rwanda's Capital Market Authority (CMA), previously known as Capital Markets Advisory Council (CMAC), which in turn reports to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN).
The East Africa Exchange (EAX) is a regional commodity exchange established to link smaller farms to agricultural and financial markets, secure competitive prices for products and facilitate access to financing opportunities. It is registered throughout East Africa Community Partner countries. The current and future operations consist of spot, forwards, auction and futures trading, as well as warehouse operations.
